Welcome to the Cold Creek Rod Company. We are one of three community based companies under R&D Enterprises located at 404 Parkview Lane, Frankfort, Michigan 49635. This is a 15,000 sq.ft. building that houses our bamboo rod making facilities to include all development and processing equipment. We also have an exclusive eight station classroom for teaching bamboo fly rod and graphite rod making classes. The classes are scheduled throughout the year and posted on our Web site under Classes. We specialize in building our bamboo fly rods from select Tonkin Bamboo and top of the line components. We make three levels of bamboo rods which include our 'custom' model, our 'premium' model, and our exclusively made 'executive' models. We also produce and sell graphite rods and blanks in various lengths and sell all of the rod components needed to complete your own rod. We are currently in the process of making the transition and move from our primary operations facility in Northern Virginia, to our new facility in Frankfort Michigan. For our current and past customers, we will continue to operate out of our original rod shop in Northern Virginia. We hope to be in full operation in our new facility in the Spring of 2012 and expect great things for the future.

The Parent company, R&D Enterprises, is a community based enterprise located in spectacular Frankfort, Michigan that provides products and services ranging from custom bamboo fly rods and high-end graphite rods under the Cold Creek Rod Company label to strip canoes and kayaks under the Crystal Canoe label. We also manufacture a wide-range of ice fishing and conventional fishing gear under the R&D Enterprises label. We operate three Charter Boats (Bay Runner, Bay Runner II & III) which target Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Coho Salmon and King Salmon throughout the seasons from the Frankfort, Michigan harbor. R&D Enterprises has a Boat Storage Facility for both short and long-term contracts. In addition to making, manufacturing and providing these products and services we also teach Classes in bamboo fly rod making, graphite rod making and strip canoe building that are available on a periodic basis. As this is truly a community based adventure all proceeds are put back in to the local community and civic organizations in the form of college scholarships, support to the local fire and police departments, medical service support and other community based organizations as the opportunity avails itself.
